Important information
Our School Day:
Goodfellow Public School operates on a balanced day schedule. Our day begins at 9:20 and our days ends at 3:40.
The schedule is as follows:
9:20-11:00: 1st block of instruction time
11:00-11:20: Outdoor Recess
11:20-11:40: Nutrition Break
11:40-1:20: 2nd block of instruction time
1:20-1:40: Outdoor Recess
1:40-2:00: Nutrition Break
2:00-3:40: 3rd block of instruction time
Dismissal:
On the first day of school you will receive a form to fill out to confirm how your child will get home from school. If your child will be taking a bus or going to the YMCA day care they will be dismissed with a bus helper to their lines in the main hallway of the school. If your child is a walker/pick-up, I will walk students out to the fence (if you are looking at the school it is on the left side). Students will wait with me until a parent/guardian is there to pick them up. If there is a day when dismissal routines change for your child (someone else is picking them up, they won't be taking the bus etc), please let me know with a note in the agenda.
Communication:
Each student will receive a communication bag and agenda on the first day of school. Any notes or communication letters from myself will be sent home in the communication bag. Please be sure to check the agenda and communication bags daily. You can use the agenda as a tool for communicating with me. I ask that if you send any notes or money (fun lunch, milk, school trips, etc.) with your child, please put it in the communication bag/agenda. I will check communication bags each morning.
Extra Clothes:
Please ensure that you send a change of clothes with your child "just in case". I will have a place to keep these clothes in the classroom for the year. Please send the clothing in a bag that is labelled with your child's name.
Shoes:
All students need to have a pair of indoor shoes to wear at school. Students are expected to change their shoes when coming into school to keep our classrooms clean. It would be great if you could send a pair of indoor shoes with your child that could stay at school for the year so that your child does not have to bring shoes back and forth each day.
Allergies:
Please note that our entire school and playground in nut free. We have several nut allergies in our school. Thank you for your consideration in ensuring that peanut butter and other nut products are not sent to school.
As well as nuts we need to ensure the following products do not come into our classroom (as we have students with severe allergies to these foods as well):
